Andrea Ancira (Mexico City, 1984) Editor and curator. Her research is situated at the crossroads of archival practice, editing and translation as devices to investigate memory, identity and the power structures that underpin historical narratives. She has been a radio programmer and producer of amateur video clips for projects such as Belafonte Sensacional and Malas Amistades. In 2008 she created the podcast Discomancia, a program that aired on Radio Global and used divination arts and books to guide the listening of music with sounds coming from digital or analog interfaces (downtempo, glitch, artpop, drone, idm, dreampop, ambient, noise, artnoise, etc). Her sonic explorations focus on the ways in which sound shapes our sensibility and our understanding of a shared world. She is interested in the role of unwanted, residual, marginal sounds and pop music in the collective unconscious. These explorations are done under the pseudonym aag or Dj poca fiebre. Since 2017 she co-created tumbalacasa ediciones, a small transfeminist publishing platform that performs publishing as a practice of occupation and re-writing of the public through the co-production of meanings.
