Marc Vives Muñoz sings and swims between the performing and the visual arts. He trained in Fine Arts in 2001 at the University of Barcelona and is a PhD candidate at the University of Castilla–La Mancha. He works with the materiality of the voice in its sculptural potential, aiming to infiltrate architectures, landscapes, and other bodies and to reformulate an established order. He has presented his work at Rogaland Kunstsenter (Stavanger, 2016), Redcat (LA, 2016), etHALL (Barcelona, 2018), MACBA (Barcelona, 2021), and performed at Antic Teatre (Barcelona, 2020), CCEMX (Mexico, 2020), Festival Grec (Barcelona, 2020), La Casa Encendida (Madrid, 2021), MUSAC (León, 2023), Collegium (Arévalo, 2023), and MAC PANAMÁ (2023). He collaborates with other artists; from 2002 to 2012 he was part of the duo Bestué-Vives, participating in the Venice Biennale in 2009. His sphere of influence extends beyond artistic practice to pedagogy, curating, and management, seeking to collectively transform contextual models. Recently, he co-curated the cycle on corporeality and image “Secuencia” with Fernando Gandasegui, co-created the “School of Voice” with Laia Estruch, and was part of the curatorial team at La Capella. He also launched GRAF.cat in 2013 and remains involved in advisory and strategic roles.
