Maybe Not

A playlist for the moments between night and wakefulness, transitions, and suspended spaces just before dreaming, curated by Laura González Palacios from Chiquita Room.

Dreaming as a place of desire, as a space for possible revolution.

About this playlist

Maybe Not a playlist conceived by Laura González Palacios, founder and director of Chiquita Room, is a contemporary creation space that also serves as a gallery, residency, and independent publishing house.

The last three curated playlists originated from a card reading that suggested I pay attention to my dreams. From there came the invitations to Alan, Elisa, and Laura, each of whom has a unique connection to the dream space in their own ways.

A couple of days ago, Paul Preciado presented his latest book, Dysphoria Mundi—a work as incisive and critical as it is hopeful and enthusiastic. He mentioned something I want to hold onto for this series of playlists: dreaming as a space of desire, as a possible site of revolution. This playlist, curated by Laura González Palacios from Chiquita Room, is designed for the delicate moments between night and wakefulness, capturing the transitions and suspended spaces just before dreaming. It features tracks that blend soothing tones and ambient textures, drawing listeners into a calm yet lucid state, where the mind prepares for the immersion into dreams. Each song echoes the liminality of these pre-dream spaces, inviting a gradual descent into a serene and open mental space, evoking memories, sensations, and the soft blurring of consciousness.
