SSSSS

Among changing landscapes, voices surface in which language has been lost... perhaps expressions of complaint, calling, crying, and so on.

A space woven between the voice and the sea.

Sobre la pIEZA

SSSSS emerges from a lived experience that leads Marc to adopt the sea as a field of work and the voice as a medium. The project begins in Barcelona and continues along the Costa Brava for biographical reasons. Marc swims from north to south and there, among changing landscapes, voices surface in which language has been lost—perhaps expressions of complaint, calling, crying, and so on.

Through the performance, he seeks to bring the sea into a shareable stage using vocal exercises that refer to paralanguages, that is, all those accidental or involuntary sounds of the body. Marc’s work aims to approach and gather oral traditions that belong to specific territories and, at the same time, are interchangeable; they resemble one another because they refer to the same vital impulses, invoking ancestral forms of community, if not more harmonious, then at least more aware of their environment, in a posthumanist sense.

His performances unfold as “exercises” whose endings are never clear, often transforming into something else. Attentive to how materials evolve, to the architectures in which they are presented, and to the moments they pass through, each presentation is situated accordingly. On this occasion, we encounter an open-ended exercise, a space woven between his voice and the sea.
